Now you're all probably wondering, "Sam, what do you mean by self-strength?" There are many different categories that fit this general topic, but today I'll be giving you some advice on working hard and reaching your goals. Goals are those things that you wish to achieve in life itself, including those mini-goals that you set for yourself everyday.
So the other day in one of my classes, my teacher taught us that working hard to get to where you want to be will be challenging, but it will all be worthwhile. He gave us the example of finding a job. My teacher said that nowadays, Americans complain that Asian immigrants are "stealing" American jobs. That is beyond not true. It is due to the fact that schools in Asia tend to teach you to work hard. I myself am Asian, and being raised and taught here in an American school, I can totally spot the difference. I believe that I do have the work ethic in myself to get not only good grades, but to have the right mind in the environment in which I'm situated in. However, my classmates? Some of them hardly ever do their homework, and others just don't do any kind of work at all! Where are they going to get in life?
That is exactly why you need to set goals for yourself. For example what do you want to do in life? If you want to become a marine biologist, work hard in every subject you can. If you want to become a doctor, still work hard in every subject. If you want to become a lawyer? Work as hard as you can in every single subject! Work may seem daunting and you may just be too lazy to do work, but do it anyway! Not only will you feel proud of yourself, but you'll know that all of that hard work that you've placed into a workout, test, quiz, relationship, etc. was all worth it!
So go on then, make a goal for yourself! It doesn't have to be big at all! It can be as simple as waking up in the morning earlier, or eating breakfast everyday, or become healthier! As long as you set goals for yourself, you'll slowly improve on your self-strength and confidence. You can do this, no matter sleet, snow, hail, rain, or forest fire!
